The cicadas of Australia website is an amazing resource on Australian cicadas.
The site is by L. W. Popple, but includes information from many sources (see acknowledgements section).

This is a scientific resource that can easily be used by non-experts. The browsing section consists of a list of Australian cicada genera, each illustrated with an images. This provides a visual way to use this site for identification of cicadas you may find.

Through this list, links give access to view Australian species in the genus. The genus page has images of cicada species and a distribution map of the genus in Australia.

There is also a detailed bibliography list and a list of links to other cicada web resources.
